What should your ideal WordPress hosting provider give you? More than just MySQL and PHP

WordPress is an integral part of the Internet. Many new WordPress sites have become more than just “blogs”. WordPress has the minimum requirements if you want to host it yourself through an independent hosting provider (otherwise you can use WordPress.com). Although the Minimum Requirements List is the absolute minimum you need to start a WordPress website, we recommend more. Here is a list of what your hosting provider should give you to start your WordPress website.

Control Panel

Having a board is something you should get. You can’t miss the control panel, as it gives you direct and easy access to your files and composition for your website. This is very important when you want to troubleshoot or diagnose problems on your WordPress website. Whether you’re hosted on Linux or Windows, you should have a control panel that allows you to view error logs, statistics, FTP details, file management, and have antivirus or cleaning tools, among other things. We love cPanel (Linux) and most of the people who have web hosting experience.

Automatic installer

In addition to cPanel and other panels, most providers also bundle automatic installation systems like Softaculous, Fantastico and Installatron. These automatic installers allow you to install WordPress with just a few clicks. It is also important to help you back up the website before making any harmful changes. The best part of this is that you can also update all your WordPress software to the latest version with just one click. Some automatic installers also allow you to set a reminder when an update is available. They also have an automatic update feature that will update your WordPress installation without your intervention as soon as a new version is available.

MySQL databases

This is one of the minimum WordPress requirements. WordPress currently requires MySQL 5.7 or later to function well. For Linux hosting, MySQL is standard. For Windows hosting, you may need to check with your hosting provider if they offer MySQL databases along with standard MS SQL databases on Windows. Since MySQL is also open source, it completes WordPress well.

PHP

The minimum WordPress requirements are 7.2 PHP or higher. WordPress is written in PHP and therefore requires PHP to be installed on the server. Almost all hosting providers, whether Windows or Linux, offer PHP.

PHPMyAdmin

PHPMyAdmin is a MySQL database administration tool, written in PHP programming language. It allows you to view your database in table form, somewhat similar to a spreadsheet and allows you to manipulate and make major changes to the WordPress backend. You no longer need to write long SQL queries and phrases and you risk making a silly mistake. You can use the simple GUI and click to make changes. While PHPMyAdmin is not a minimum requirement, we can’t imagine WordPress running smoothly without it. Resetting the WordPress admin password by forgetting that it has never been as easy as PHPMyAdmin.

Apache mod_rewrite

Although WordPress doesn’t mention Apache mod_rewrite as a minimum requirement to install WordPress, it doesn’t have to be there. Mod_rewrite changes the complex URLs in your WordPress system to make it seem more intuitive and easy for search engines to understand. They simply change the page number to the page title. For example: [http://example.com/?p=4245] It will be automatically replaced by anything in “Article Slug” like [http://example.com/blog]. You can still use number-based URLs, but it won’t be fun.
